After a working life servicing Cockatoo Island to a relaxed and quiet semi retirement cruising the Hawkesbury and surrounds, the Banksia now enjoys the serenity of this handsome waterway.
The Banksia has been ferrying passengers since 1952. Originally christened Biloela she was a work boat for Cockatoo Island bringing workers to and from the island and she still oozes the charm of a working boat.
Over the decades she carried many workers to and from the island, and today she is still operating with all the charm of that bygone era. Built and maintained by the workers that used her, Banksia is recognised wherever she goes.
